Service Description

Restorative and Somatic Rest for you and your partner is a gentle, nurturing, and therapeutic approach to yoga. Moving slowly through the poses allows you to explore your mind and body at a steady and more natural pace. The slower pace and the deep breathing activate the calm side of your nervous system. This calming effect sets a deeply relaxing tone for the practice that comforts your mind and body on a cellular level. We use props for support in these classes and this enhances the benefits of prolonged, mostly still poses. This practice is different in that it also integrates therapeutic yoga, trauma aware, somatic techniques, and other body-mind practices such as Feldenkrais, Body Mind Centring and myofascial release to cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and promote deep rest and recovery. Embracing the soothing and nurturing aspects of yoga, Restorative, Somatic Rest fosters a balancing of the nervous system, amplifies the impact of deliberate relaxation, and taps into the body's inherent healing capacities. We live in a stressful and fast paced environment, Restorative, Somatic Rest is a beautiful antidote to this. It proves particularly advantageous when coping with anxiety, stress, illness, fatigue, or injury. We will work together to develop practices that will suit you and your partner's unique areas of tension, how to release them and find deep rest.

For in studio and online classes please cancel or reschedule 4 hours before the class. Classes will be forfeited if not cancelled with enough notice. Thank you so much for your understanding.
